The Role

This is a key position working alongside the Head of Development, to deliver Open Door’s ambitious business strategy and financial outcomes. Maximising income and facilitating growth from charitable trusts and foundations is integral to their future success. 

Duties will include: 
  • Building, managing and tracking a strong pipeline of individual trusts and foundations that align with Open Door’s values and mission. 
  • Writing and submitting high-quality, compelling, funding applications to a range of potential donors to secure funds, to meet set targets.   
  • Fostering long-term, collaborative relationships with trusts and foundations, and internal and external partners.  
  • Providing the Head of Development with appropriate updates with regards to operations and pipelines.
This role will be hybrid, part working from home and part based at the charity’s vibrant and dynamic home, the Bloom Building, and possess the opportunity to work flexibility with the diverse communities of Liverpool.

The Person

We are looking for an empathetic, passionate individual with an understanding of charity and NFP organisations and how they are funded. 

Experience in writing compelling content either from trust and foundations, business development, bid writing or marketing and communications is essential. You should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to ensure you present information clearly, concisely and can tailor it to different audiences and stakeholders. 

While experience working for a charity would be advantageous, we are also keen to speak with people looking to transition their skills into this rewarding area. Perhaps most importantly, you should be a confident and competent communicator able to build long-lasting relationships.
