What do we do at Charity Horizons in order to ensure our processes are in line with good EDI practice
Gender neutral language used in all adverts
Actively challenge clients’ job descriptions and person specifications to ensure they are written in a non discriminatory way
Utilise wide application platforms and have a visible commitment listed on all advertisements
Anonymise CVs, omit education dates and remove detail in relation to protected characteristics
Obtain a signed commitment from all clients to ensure they are in agreement with our processes and practices in relation to good EDI standards
Ensuring reasonable adjustments are highlighted and made possible at interview
Undergo regular training to eliminate unconscious bias and ensure consistency
Delivery of EDI training to clients
Encourage employers to offer flexibility and accommodate disability
While we are proud of our commitment to EDI, we constantly review and evolve our practices and recognise we always have the potential to do more. As an organisation, and by being part of the sector as whole, we still have a long way to go but are more committed than ever to being part of this positive change.
