Relationship Fundraiser

Stroke Association
Relationship Fundraiser
£30,463.13
Home-based, with frequent travel across North East England and Yorkshire
Full time (35 hours)
Permanent

Stroke Association is the UK's largest charity dedicated to helping with the emotional, practical and financial cost a stroke can have. Surprisingly it can happen to anyone, of any age, at any time. Sadly, two-thirds of people who survive a stroke find themselves living with a disability. 1 in 4 strokes happen in people of working age.

‘Alex was just 36 when a stroke left him with severe physical disabilities as well as having a huge impact on his emotional and mental health. He had two very young children at the time and a busy job. Being there for his family and being able to do his job all changed’.

We are looking for someone to join their Regional Fundraising team to support the charity’s incredible work.

The Role

The main purpose of this role is to proactively acquire new donor and volunteer support and deliver excellent stewardship. The Relationship Fundraiser will become a pivotal contact within the local area for awareness raising, volunteering and income generation.

Duties will include:

• Maximising income from core income streams including supporter led fundraising, community groups and corporate supporters
• Providing excellent supporter stewardship and pro-actively seeking out new ways to pro-vide support, resulting in long-lasting and meaningful relationships.
• Acquiring new donors and recruiting volunteers.
• Leading on and contributing to nationwide projects, along with organisation wide
collaboration.

The role is home based with frequent travel across the North East and Yorkshire regions to meet with potential and existing supporters and to attend team meetings. There is therefore a requirement to hold a driving license, and have access to a vehicle with business insurance.

You must be able to work flexibly to maximise opportunities across the North East and Yorkshire, and have the initiative and ability to work unsupervised. You should have excellent attention to detail, as well as IT skills and experience in using industry standard IT systems.

Previous experience in initiating and organising fundraising events and activities is desirable however, we are also keen to speak with people who also have the knowledge and experience in building relationships with the ability to nurture and grow existing support.

Why Stroke Association?

The Regional Fundraising team at Stroke Association pride themselves on having an open, honest and supportive working environment. As a member of the team, you would be encouraged to share successes as well as constructively participate in feedback, and actively make positive change.

Their innovative initiative ‘making your week work for you’ encourages flexibility around working hours, for example working a 9-day fortnight, with a day off every other week.

The charity's benefits include:
  • Homeworking allowance and mileage
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave
  • Sick pay
  • Pension and salary exchange
  • Flexible working
